When you first start playing Mafia Wars, it can be hard to figure out what your priorities should be. You have a lot of options, which is a big part of what makes the game so engaging to play. But the speed with which you’re able to advance and succeed in the game will have a lot to do with some of the decisions you make early on. Setting your priorities in order from the beginning will make it much easier for you to build up your mafia empire quickly.
Stick to the Basics
It can be tempting to go out and buy up a lot of weapons, armour, and vehicles right from the start. You feel like you need to have the biggest guns out there to compete, but that’s just not true. You’ll pick up plenty of weapons and other equipment that’s required for jobs or that you find on the job. In the early stages of the game, that’s all the equipment you’ll need and you’ll be able to spend your money on other things.
Buy Land
The best thing to do with your extra cash at first is to buy up all the land you can. You don’t necessarily want to build on it yet because you might not have a large enough mafia to protect it. But having that land means you have money coming in other than what you earn by doing jobs. This is a huge help, especially when you start to acquire the equipment that has upkeep costs.
Control Your Temper
It will be very tempting for you to jump into a fight at every opportunity. You’ll have plenty of time for this down the road though, and it’s better to wait until you’re well established in the game and know that you’ll be able to win any fight you start. Even if someone else attacks you, don’t take the bait. You can always get back at them later.
Save Your Godfather Points
There are all kinds of interesting and tempting items to spend your Godfather points on early on in the game. You’ll be much better off down the road though if you conserve those points. They’ll be of much more use to you later in the game, and since they’re not so easy to come by, it’s best to be saving them from the beginning.
Recruit Everyone You Know
The easiest way to get ahead fast in this game is to have the biggest mafia around. This means you can include up to 500 people in your mafia. While you’ll likely have to go out and recruit some people who aren’t already on your friend list to do this, you can get off to a good start by inviting everyone you know to join you. You’ll likely be surprised just which people take you up on your offer.
There are a lot of paths you can take to success in Mafia Wars. If you want to get to the top fast though, you should keep these tips in mind as you start out to build your very own mafia empire.
